Lalla
Rookh plays a mix of traditional (and not so traditional) Celtic music
from England, Ireland, and Scotland. The group takes its name
from
a song recorded on it's first CD, 'Tales and Tradition Book One'.
There are several origins of the name 'Lalla Rookh': one is that
it is the name of the figure head on an old English whaling ship that
was
retired in the early 1900s; it is also a book of poetry by Sir Thomas
Moore.
In any case, the name "Lalla Rookh" is original, which can accurately
describe
this band as well. We sincerely hope to perform for your next festival or event. Please Browse through our Promotional Material and listen to samples of our music. We hope to meet you soon.
